Dear Good Samaritan Staff,
There are no adequate words to thank a team who worked with me for 12 years to care for my mother, but I want to try anyway.
The first three years mother was at the Good Samaritan, she lived in a beautiful apartment – and then the last nine years she had a room in the skilled nursing facility. She loved the view of the gardens from her windows, the birds that came to eat from the feeder, the cottonwood tree across the street, the flowers and green grass. She loved the picnics on the patio, fishing at the lake, outings for ice cream, and movies in the activity room. She liked cooking, having her nails done, going to get her hair fixed, and eating in the dining room with ladies she came to care about through the years. And she loved the dining room especially after the recent redecoration. She enjoyed her baths and the daily care of the aides.
Thanks for the many happy days, the smiles, the good times – the care and concern through the hard times – and most of all the expressions of God’s love! I could not have done it alone."
I have made many friends with all of you and many of my friends are still in your loving care. I look forward to continuing my visits and encouraging you when times get tough to stay the course in offering Christ-like care because life is so very precious and needs your consistent care.
I miss Mother so much, but I cannot think of anything else I could have done for her to give her more joy than the care and fun she received at Good Samaritan. Thanks for being part of our lives.
